Why is the project important? Keep reading to see.
The project starts from the awareness, acquired over time by the partner institutions that experience the area firsthand and work daily with the young people who animate it, of the difficulties that the labor market presents to them. Continuous confrontation with young people clearly brings out strong labor criticalities. Particularly in the territories of Aegina and Cellole, the supply of work is depressing for the younger generation and is leading to a significant increase in departures from the homeland to new realities that can at least partially fill this void. The young people who remain are affected by a great sense of mistrust and abandonment that primarily affects their own lives, through a drastic reduction in creativity, self-confidence, motivation, drive to improve themselves and to seek opportunities to impact their homeland. The labor market also remains affected, due to high staff turnover, low career opportunities in low-skilled sectors, leading to limited economic growth. At the same time, the reality of Sofia allows FYLL to look at the metropolitan labor supply, which is characterized by more widespread critical issues, more focused on the individual difficulties of young people in the area, and less related to the territorial labor supply, which in any case is incapable of showing itself to be truly inclusive.
The project is designed to work on two fronts, that of young people and that of entrepreneurs, who will not only be involved in potentially ineffective training days, but who will have the opportunity, through real dialogue with young workers, to exchange ideas, opinions, and mutual needs regarding labor and rights issues. They will also be stimulated to address cross-cutting issues aimed at rekindling motivation and regaining mutual trust through sharing their perspectives, experiences and aspirations.
The idea of creating a label that can support the cause of the project and indicate the business realities of the territories that recognize these values and to which these values are acknowledged, is a way of guaranteeing continuity to the project, making it lasting and stable, beyond the opportunity to reproduce it in other territories, in other communities that experience the same dynamics. The label will be a means of guaranteeing to consumers in the target municipalities the recognition of entrepreneurs who have embraced, at least in part, in a logic of progressive improvement, the values we have affirmed in the project, as well as becoming a support in finding answers to their own community demands. It will also be a way of rewarding entrepreneurial activities for the work they have done, for the purpose of improving the welfare of the community, young people and their personal and professional growth.
