We are happy to announce the start of project SKIFF- Skills for future!
The overall objective of SKIF project is to contribute to soft and employability skills development of young professionals who are about to establish the foundations of an impactful future in Europe. According to the European Commission and the European Pillar of Social Rights, the most essential skill sets needed for jobs in 2025 and beyond are almost all soft skills.
The project aims to ensure the right to quality and inclusive education and training for all young people aged 16–30, including those with fewer opportunities, NEET, and disadvantaged backgrounds. Having this mission, guided by the European Skills Agenda, the partnership outlines the following concrete objectives,
focusing its work on supporting young people in the development of skills for life such as civic competencies and employability skills, with the objectives to improve the importance of skills in the EU and contribute to social inclusion and ensure equal and full participation in young people in the EU labor market. In order to be able to contribute to the growth of emerging economies, efficiently enter into the workforce and retain employment, young people need to acquire the ability to
master soft and employability skills.
One of the first steps is to understand the reasoning behind skills gap between the skills youth develop through formal education and the skills needed by employers focusing on today and those needed in the future. The knowledge gap demonstrates skill mismatch and its relation to the rates of youth unemployment tend to affect young people’s motivation to participate in the labour market. With the aim of supporting young people with ongoing coaching and mentoring, the
partnership aims to help young people to complement the knowledge gap between formal education through non-formal methods of learning.
In order to reach the set objectives, SKIF project will develop the following results:
- A training course on the most demanded soft skills for employment Inclusive and equal access to training and learning opportunities to all young people aged 16-30
- Contribution to the development of soft and employability skills for young people
- Support young people to easier transition to the European labour market
The objectives are directly linked to the selected priorities as SKIF project applies an inclusion and diversity approach and targets all young people aged 16-30, especially those with fewer opportunities and from marganalised backgrounds in all of the foreseen activities. Youth employment will be promoted and strengthened through addressing the importance of soft and employability skills, and especially by equipping youths with the right skills for today's and tomorrow’s labour market needs.
