Last week, a series of activities with students from grades 1 to 9 were carried out at “Vasil Aprilov” Secondary School in Dolna Mitropolia as part of the project “Promoting Intercultural Education through Culture, Science and Sports in Dolna Mitropolia Municipality”.

On January 14, 2026, children and parents from Sun Kindergarten in the village of Orekhovitsa presented the traditional Roma ritual “Vasilitsa”, also known as Bango Vasil. The activity was implemented within the framework of the project “Promoting Intercultural Education through Culture, Science and Sport in Dolna Mitropolia Municipality” and was part of Activity 3 – “You, Me, We – Together”, aimed at building an active parent community and encouraging parental involvement in the educational process.

Last week, activities under the project “Promoting Intercultural Education through Culture, Science and Sports in Dolna Mitropolia Municipality” were carried out at “Vasil Aprilov” Secondary School in Dolna Mitropolia.

On December 17, 2025, within the framework of the project “Promoting Intercultural Education through Culture, Science and Sport in Dolna Mitropolia Municipality”, implemented under procedure BG05SFPR001-1.004 “Promoting Intercultural Education through Culture, Science and Sport” and funded by the Education Programme 2021–2027, a Christmas ritual was held.

The event took place at St. St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School in the village of Stavertsi, with the participation of parents and an educational mediator from the Roma community. Children and adults spent meaningful time together, sharing stories, traditions, and customs related to the Christmas holiday.

The activity contributed to strengthening the relationship between the school and families, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Such activities are essential for promoting intercultural dialogue and building trust between schools, families, and the local community. By celebrating traditions together and sharing cultural heritage, opportunities are created for mutual understanding, respect for diversity, and active parental involvement in the educational process, which is a key factor for children’s successful social inclusion and development.

As part of the project “Strengthening Intercultural Education through Culture, Science, and Sports in Dolna Mitropolia Municipality”, the Projecteka Association team conducted interactive activities with children in the municipality's kindergartens, aimed at fostering intercultural awareness, social skills, and curiosity.
